save 6 kill 9

1) The discussion was a bit frustrating. I didn't necessarily feel uncomfortable because it wasn't real life. I feel the most difficult part was having to make a decision with other people. I'm sure no one in the room would have selected these 6 exact people
2) I learned that when working with other people, you need to compromise and accept other's opinions in order to obtain the best outcome
3) I felt it was unfair that people were allowed to assume that the nazi MAY change his views and that the homosexual MAY take on for the team to reproduce, yet I wasn't permitted to assume the possibility that the african american homosexual may have AIDS, when I had stats backing me up and all the other assumptions had nothing backing them up.
4) Either to piss me off or to learn teamwork and sacrifices

Cathleen Black

I viewed Cathleen Black's Speech "From Gutenberg to Zuckerberg: Re-inventing Success in Media and Life". Ms. Black has had a very accomplished life. Since she was young she wanted to take charge. She even changed the spelling of her name at a young age. She had to strive to become successful in a world run by men where women were often discriminated. She became successful by having a strong point of view and often overpowered her colleagues. She was so opinionated and voiced that she was threatened to be fired from a previous job. She was so determined to keep her profession that she decided to listen to the people she worked with and learned that she had to take other's thoughts and opinions into consideration. Today, she is the chairman of Hearst magazines and takes part in many magazines like "esquire" "Oprah" and "cosmopolitan". She has made it onto Forbes' "100 world most influential women" and is such an inspiration. She has many things to teach like; how you can not be afraid relocate, you can not be afraid to change, "innovation is the most valuable strategy", and you always have to move forward to keep up with current times and new trends.

How I will use the resources of the J-School

At the tour of the J school we learned many things such as where all the different fields do work in the building, like there the photography area is, the office/workplace where the newspaper writers work on writing the local newspapers and such. With this knowledge, I feel that I would be able to find people and make connections for future references.

Mizzou

I enjoy the lectures and classes I am taking. For some reason having the teacher not just focus on me relaxes me and gets me to pay attention. Also I'm a lot more organized taking notes on my macbook because my handwriting sucks and i hate to write. The fact that guys are not allowed in parties (with the exception of some where the price is 10$) pisses me off. My weekend sucked last week and Chicago is much better than Columbia Missouri. I hate how every single guy here plays Xbox and jacks off to the thoughts of sports. I hate being surrounded by bros and hoes. Some people are cool though, just a huge change from Chicago to here.

The Climb - miley cyrus

I can almost see it
That dream I am dreaming
But there's a voice inside my head saying
"You'll never reach it"

Every step I'm taking
Every move I make feels
Lost with no direction
My faith is shaking

But I gotta keep trying
Gotta keep my head held high

There's always gonna be another mountain
I'm always gonna wanna make it move
Always gonna be a uphill battle
Sometimes I'm gonna have to lose

Ain't about how fast I get there
Ain't about what's waiting on the other side
It's the climb

The struggles I'm facing
The chances I'm taking
Sometimes might knock me down
But no, I'm not breaking

I may not know it
But these are the moments that
I'm gonna remember most, yeah
Just gotta keep going

And I, I got to be strong
Just keep pushing on

'Cause there's always gonna be another mountain
I'm always gonna wanna make it move
Always gonna be a uphill battle
Sometimes I'm gonna have to lose

Ain't about how fast I get there
Ain't about what's waiting on the other side
It's the climb, yeah!

There's always gonna be another mountain
I'm always gonna wanna make it move
Always gonna be an uphill battle
Somebody's gonna have to lose

Ain't about how fast I get there
Ain't about what's waiting on the other side
It's the climb, yeah!

Keep on moving, keep climbing
Keep the faith, baby
It's all about, it's all about the climb
Keep the faith, keep your faith, whoa

King still king

Martin Luther king was a person who believed that people should not be judged for what they look like but for whats on the inside. Unfortunately people are judged by their looks and it isn't right. I feel he, and all others who share his thoughts should be treated like kings, whether or not they are considered one. I have experience of looking different than the norm and its uncomfortable and unjust that people should judge. Its disgusting how one could be addicted to drugs and one can be addicted to beating their family, and the one who looks more normal than the other is treated better. Drugs are highly addictive and alter your appearence and you could easily be classified as a drug addict and have people stay away from you. On the other hand, the one who gets 6 figures and has a picture perfect life and family secretly beatshis family. The person with the drug addiction may have made bad mistakes but doesn't make them a bad person, while the other person, shouldnt be allowed to interact with anyone because his actions are so nasty.
People should be judged by how dsigusting their actions are. One who is a bad friend and easily ditches her best friend to go hangout with people who dont even appreciate her. People who drag her to`stupid places to do stupid things and think they are the coolest people on earth. they should be judged on how much they need a reality check and how messed up their priorities are.
