Ms. Black has had a very accomplished life. Since she was young she wanted to take charge. She even changed the spelling of her name at a young age. She had to strive to become successful in a world run by men where women were often discriminated. She became successful by having a strong point of view and often overpowered her colleagues. She was so opinionated and voiced that she was threatened to be fired from a previous job. She was so determined to keep her profession that she decided to listen to the people she worked with and learned that she had to take other's thoughts and opinions into consideration. Today, she is the chairman of Hearst magazines and takes part in many magazines like "esquire" "Oprah" and "cosmopolitan". She has made it onto Forbes' "100 world most influential women" and is such an inspiration. She has many things to teach like; how you can not be afraid relocate, you can not be afraid to change, "innovation is the most valuable strategy", and you always have to move forward to keep up with current times and new trends.

How I will use the resources of the J-School

At the tour of the J school we learned many things such as where all the different fields do work in the building, like there the photography area is, the office/workplace where the newspaper writers work on writing the local newspapers and such. Also I'm a lot more organized taking notes on my macbook because my handwriting sucks and i hate to write. The fact that guys are not allowed in parties (with the exception of some where the price is 10$) pisses me off. My weekend sucked last week and Chicago is much better than Columbia Missouri. Unfortunately people are judged by their looks and it isn't right. I feel he, and all others who share his thoughts should be treated like kings, whether or not they are considered one. I have experience of looking different than the norm and its uncomfortable and unjust that people should judge. Its disgusting how one could be addicted to drugs and one can be addicted to beating their family, and the one who looks more normal than the other is treated better. Drugs are highly addictive and alter your appearence and you could easily be classified as a drug addict and have people stay away from you. On the other hand, the one who gets 6 figures and has a picture perfect life and family secretly beatshis family. The person with the drug addiction may have made bad mistakes but doesn't make them a bad person, while the other person, shouldnt be allowed to interact with anyone because his actions are so nasty.
People should be judged by how dsigusting their actions are. One who is a bad friend and easily ditches her best friend to go hangout with people who dont even appreciate her. People who drag her to`stupid places to do stupid things and think they are the coolest people on earth. they should be judged on how much they need a reality check and how messed up their priorities are.

sports in my life? Menomonee was a wonderful place where kids joined to meet others and feel how it feels to be a team player, you learned valuable skills, like listening to the coach (discipline) interacting with others/ being on a team (selflessness/sharing) and got kids off their AZZes and into physical training.
I played flag football and basketball.(also I took a cooking class) and to this day, what do I still do? I still cook. TEEHEE el oh el smiley face. I grew up to be not competetive,I feel the fun is lost because competition is only fun win you are trying to prove your skill to other. Too bad I had no skill.
Watching others play sports does not entertain me most of the time. sometimes it does.
I do enjoy playing sports with people I am comfortable playing with for a casual not competitive game. I get very into it and get adrenaline rushes. The only downside is while you are playing you get so wrapped up that if you get hurt, you dont notice an afterwards, its hurts like a mofo

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://whatsavailablephilosophy.blogspot.com/2010/01/blog-post.html' title='sports in my life? McCarthy. Mr McCarthy was always able to connect with his students because he is not ignorent and knows whatsup. He is a very open minded person who makes all of his students, no matter what race, gender or personal interests are feel welcome in his class. He tries to relates his class discussions on the topic that is needed to be learned and is succesful with keeping it interesting and relateable to present day teenagers. I feel that he would be able to act as a student's counseler. He is easy to talk to and is not too intimidating, but just enough to earn respects from students. If I would have been able to have any teacher for two years it would honestly have been Mr. McCarthy. I have never recieved an A in his class which proves I wouldnt choose his class due to easy grading. Whenever an arguement strikes up between Bobby Martinez and I over whether or not Mr McCarthy rules, I always win because I am able to use my teacher's advice "Bobby, you hate everything." which would be why he wouldnt think mr mccarthy is amazing. A discussion arisen last year about how students in whitney young think they are really cool and amazing and popular, and I got so excited that he said his comment because however he phrased it is exactly how I feel/felt. The father and son relationship is potentially one of the closest. Fathers often want their legacy to be passed down through their son. The father is usually wants to continue his life through his son's life. Besides that though, the father and son can easily bond. They have many things to talk about and do together like sports. If the relationship is healthy, which it isn't always, they can become actual friends. They can talk about their day and make jokes with each other and possibly even talk about their sex lives or the child can be comfortable enough to tell his father what he did that weekend even if it involves alcohol or illegal stuff. The mother and son relationship tends to be different I believe. I feel this relationship tends to be more secretive, it is kind of more awkward if you think about it for a guy to tell his mother about his relationships and such and then on top of that there is less of bonding going on because they dont have as much in common. I have to generalize this though and ofcourse every situation is different. Some mother/son relationships are different because everybody is different. the father/daughter relationship is a special one usually. The father always treats her daughter like a little princess. Its a very loving relationship because the father loves his daughter so much and treats her very well (usually) and buys her a lot and the daughter has to return this love with the same amount of love, so usually this relationship is good. The mother daughter relationship can go one of two ways. Either the mother and daughter are best friends like the son and father, or it can be a very hateful relationship. The mothe and their daughter also have a lot to bond over, including shopping, or clothes or makeup or whatever and they can also get so close that they tell about their personal life and sex life. For some reason i cant explain though, some mother and daughters abhor each other. Many times, like in the movie freaky friday for example, mothers and daughters do not understand each other and I do not understand why, I feel it is the parents fault for some reason though. I hate writing this blog though because every family is different and this is almost stereotypical in some ways.

How do I know what I know?

I think I remember in american literature that this is called Metacognition? You recieve what you know from a large number of things. First off, mainly from family. When you born you learn english from listening to your siblings and parent talk, because they are the ones that are always around you and they obviously speak the language that your going to learn. This is why people who have parent who are native speakers of other languages ususally grow up being bilingual which is very handy. So you learn a great deal from your parents, but you only learn a certain amount because your parents try and shelter you. Then you learn a lot from your friends. Since your parents are very protective you learn a lot of things that are inapropriate or just things that children and their parents would alk about with each other. Things like curse wordsa nd sex and drugs and good food that is bad for you and stuff like that. You can also learn these things through experience with them and television. for example, if your in a store you might see someone drop something on their foot and swear, or on tv you can see people gettin busy or you might be an adventurer and eat things you never heard of in restaurants. You can learn streets smarts by experience, for example, you see run down houses and you see someone getting robbed across the street while your on a walk, you probobly will not return to that neighborhood. Last place where you can know what you know is from school. School is often referred to as a second home. That is because you learn so many things and have so many personal relationships and spend much of your time there. You learn why things happen in school, like why things fall (gravity) and then the acceleration of gravity and just the cause of everything.

I do not remember Candide but I WANT TO DO ALL MY BLOGS

Candide is just a very exhaggerated book about life I believe. It is about how there are reactions for all your actions. He did not really deserve all the punishments he got it but it was written for the satyre and comedy of the book. For example it all started with him getting kicked out of his own home for something really stupid like having whatever relations with the guy in charge's daughter. It's similar to a teenager getting kicked out of their own house for dating someone their parents do not approve of, which is not fair. Everything that happened to him just made him more and more negative. In life, usually individuals as they grow, they recieve more positive reactions than negative ones. In conclusion, Candide did not recieve the punishments he deserved but it was needed to get the author's point across

OUR MEANING MY FELLO JEWPALZ

ok so this song will inspire my piece of literature im about to write on this blog

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rZS6rmcL8is

OK so ill admit miley cyrus is kinda garbage, but the people who work for her are amazing! the lyricist are sometimes on point, the people who make her music beatz and rhythm are godjk and i mean i guess i can give her that she is good looking.

so anyways this song gets me in a good mood. It is also most of my philosophy, everything you do in life in the log run should make you happier. We can either do one of two things, make the best out of every situation to make our lives better, or do something to impact others. Most of us think it is hard to impact others (and when i say this i mean like find something new to help impact the world) so i feel our meaning in life is to enjoy ourselves.

I definately do not think that we should blow off everything and have our bs fun here and there as a immature kid. But what i do think is that , we should always stay positive as a kid or teenager and just always be happy no matter what happens. because if you keep trying, and dont let little things bother you, then LATER in life when you succeed you will be happy. When i get in a bad or frustrated mood i try to reserve it to myself and then after like 10 seconds i get over it. My meaning in life is to keep my happiness, its what i want and need to survive. so in the back of my mind something processes that tells me whether or not i should participate in a certain event/activity/action. I dont necessarily have to think of pros and cons to decide to do a bad decision or not its just an unconcious thing in the back of my brain. Somehow my human brain knows why i am here and how i can help the cause of whatever i should do to sustain my happiness

AIGHT D00D! WHO DA ISH IZ GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?!?!??!!?(2009)

OK MR MCCARTHY I NEED TO DO 4 BLOGS TODAY! I WANT AN A IN TU CLASE DE PHilOSOpHY

diz is blog 1)

Hokay. so da question iz "god in 2009"
not really a question so ill try and TACKLE every part of it.

So in society today, i feel if you came from a very religious family, then in return you will become a religious person. Church or prayer or and somewhat strong belief in god will most likely be created as a child, then when becoming an adult, that person will enjoy the nostalgic and homey feeling of church, god etc GOT IT HOMEY!?
In fact i just watched an episode of SISTER SISTER this morning (ive seen every episode)and it was about house tia and tamera and the whole family go to church regularly, while tamera's boyfriend didnt. the reason he didnt was because he went to church somewhat regularly, and then one day his mom ran off with the pasture I HOPE THATS THE RIGHT WORD. So the sister sister family all have always gone to church and stuff and they still do, while tamera's boyfriend had a bad experience and so he doesnt have a happy homey memory from church, WHICH IN TURN MAKES HIM NOT GO NOW AND NOT BELIEVE MUCH IN GOD. MY CASE IS CLOSED.

So next, O ACTUALLY BTW since I have seen every episode of sister sister, i know that in the past episode they talked about how they never went to church, and then tia and tameras mom made the whole family join one so she can flirt with single men. WHICH MEANS the two episodes contradict each other

OK so next,i feel more and more people these days are not caring about whether there is a god or not. I feel they are so caught up in their internet lives or tv lives or anything to pray, or think about god, or wake up for church/temple. this is causing a decrease of god believers.

LASTLY, i feel that there isnt really a god. There may be a supernatural something that started the world but i feel everyone control's their own life and that there is always faith if you take your life and do what you want with it. Being lazy will not get you anywhere, niether will giving up. if you want to do something and think there is no hope then you should do it and become succesful and flick off all the people who didnt think you can do it.

power to the people
peace.love.mileycyrus.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://whatsavailablephilosophy.blogspot.com/2009/11/aight-d00d-who-da-ish-iz-god2009.html' title='AIGHT D00D! Ill do like 300.

So yeah I said modern day gadfly is....THE PEOPLE ON THE CORNERS GIVING BROCHURES. Socrates (or a gadfly) went up to random people trying to get a certain thought out of them. He would try and try until he the person was finished and gave and admitted being wrong (He couldnt fool me! Im never wrong TEAM SAM TEAM SAM! woop woop 2010 run this. sen 10 sen 10 sen ten sen ten). So the brochure people or people wanting signatures Literally abruptly run up to you and GIT IN YO FACE. (hell naw dat aint cool) then they will say things like "SIGN HERE TO SAVE THE ANIMALS" if you say your busy they keep coming to you and pissing you (me) off. they will keep going trying to guilt you until they get the answer they want "you dont love this world or the animals?" or "you dont have 1 minute to save 5 gagillion animals" GET THE BAJEEZY OUTTA HERE. You know the more you say no, the more they question you. till eventually you go ok ill sign and you sign and they win and you lose.
(cept i gotz a secret up my sleeve YOU NEED TO BE 18 AND IM A MINOR) i win NICE SAM

So the SECOND PART is, both gadflys somewhat benefit people in the end and sometimes dont. When socrates gets to you, and eventually you look deep within yourself and change your thoughts, you question a lot about yourself, which i guesse -"the examined life is worth living"- is a good thing, while at the same time it can eat you up inside to question life and question your own way of thinking. Then you get the sign up peoplez. They will badger you until you sign and in the end you do. It CAN help animals, which is a good thing, but at the same time, maybe it doesnt help enough, and you had to pay 8 dollars. that might not of been worth it. Then also maybe it wasted your time and at the same time it was all a scam WHO KNOWZ
^^^EWW BORING PARAGRAPH too serious
d!z will make you hawpyur

http://www.playlist.com/searchbeta/tracks#Chi%20don%27t%20dance

DUDE JUZZ KEEP LIVING

Socrates you are a jerk for making us think so much. What do you even get out of making people feel stupid? thats right nothing. you may be a great philosopher but your not a good person. YOUR A JERK (he knows).

anyways, the unexamined life does deserve to keep living. People these days have a lot on their plates. Personally, i go to school go home do homework work out and go to bed EVERY DAY and it takes up my whole day. i do not have time to sit in a stupid and and just think about why and how i live thats just not even making a good choice. maybe if i were to be depressed i should evaluate my life or maybe if im bored and NOT busy. but for the most part I am.

Also, who is socrates to tell people to live. I think every life is worth living as long as the life wants to be in existence. IN FACT i think i just proved socrates WRONG. thats a big IN YOUR FACE. If you examine your life most of the time its because your second guessing yourself or how your living, and if that person second guesses the fact they want to be alive they dont deserve to live. HAHA so there. socrates says "yeah if you dont examine your life your not worth living." thats saying if someone does examine themselves and doesnt want to live anymore, they deserve to live. im confused, anyone else?

Lastly, if someone is really comfortable with who they are and what they are doing, i dont feel that this person SHOULD re examine his/her life. And if they dont, and socrates thinks he isnt worth living, then that would be "killing" a person who is succesful and has nothing wrong with them.

K goodnight im like TOTEZ tired

XOXOgossipsam

My Eulogy

Well, I GUESSE Sam was a cool kid. He was very intelligent and bright but unfortunately is LAZY AS HELL. When he puts his mind on something he needs to finish it before he moves on, and his mind wasn't ever on homework. During school though, it was on what he was learning. His handwriting SUCKED but his essays were alright (except for research papers, he like opinion papers only). In fact in sophomore year at his highschool Whitney M. Young he did recieve an award on an essay he wrote, he got a laptop it was pretty damn cool. like him. sam is the best.

I dont know who wouldnt be his friend because he is the most hilarious person in the world. Sam would always put on a smile everywhere he went and believed that moods are contagious and only wanted to spread a good one. (A little anecdote of mine: he was walking down the street going to flattop grill (his favorite food) and a car was beeping at him. Later he recieved a text saying "when i first saw you i was thinking "Whos that happy kid walking down the street?' Then i realized it was sam herrendorf". Cool Kid (sams nickname) was open to meeting anyone and always tried to make them feel comfortable. I guesse you could call him the "friendly guy" if you were to label him.

If he was here at this funeral, he would probobly try and lighten up the mood and dance all over the stage. Although he sometimes acted out of emotion, he tried to think about the situation first, he was always the person people went to for a response between other peoples' disputes. For example, if two people were in a fight and they were trying to patch it up sam was the "go to person" if the were stuck and didnt know what to say.

To sum things up, sam is totally the most amazing person who walked this earth. hands down...or up if you TRyIn To PaRtAy
